New Medicine Service
When you are prescribed a medicine to treat certain long term conditions, our pharmacist will support you to take the medicine properly so it works to its best effect. Our pharmacist will talk to you approximately one to two weeks after you first receive the medicine normally by telephone (but you can come into the pharmacy if that is easier) and then again in another two weeks to see how you are getting on and if you are experiencing any issues that we can help you with.
Emergency Hormonal Contraception
Emergency Hormonal Contraception is commonly called the ‘morning after pill’. If you have unprotected sex, or if you have forgotten to take your usual contraception or the condom splits, our pharmacist will be able to offer confidential advice and can sell you the morning after pill as long as you are within 72 hours of having unprotected sex and are suitable to take it.
Minor Ailments
Our pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals and can supply certain medicines for a limited number of common minor ailments on the NHS without you having to make an appointment to see your GP. This is a free NHS service that doesn’t require you making an appointment.
